Vinny’s sharpening results are great!

He is at William’s Sonoma in the Shayden Summit shopping center every 3rd Sat each month, from 10am - 2pm. He sharpens on-site, even serrated knives and scissors. If you can’t make it to William’s Sonoma, he can sharpen at his home in S Reno.

He returns your knives very nicely packaged and bowed up, and he is reasonably priced.

Vinny at The Knife Guy was fantastic. He sharpened a couple of knives for me, and I was genuinely blown away by how beautifully they came out. The whole process was easy from start to finish — he was responsive, worked around my schedule, and made everything seamless.
When I picked them up, the packaging alone showed how much care he puts into his work. Every detail felt thoughtful, and the knives were incredibly sharp. He even followed up afterward, which I really appreciated.
Vinny brings back that traditional sense of skilled trade and craftsmanship that feels rare these days. That especially means a lot to me because my dad was in auto upholstery, so I’ve always had a deep appreciation for true workmanship. He’ll definitely be my go-to knife guy from now on.

The knife guy was awesome. He was professional, and courteous. I work at a salon and I did look at some reviews and it did seem like he has only done kitchen, scissors and knives of course as the name implies . However, he asked me if I did more slide cutting or push cutting. Which no one has ever asked me before when they have taken my scissors to sharpen. When I when I got some back they cut like butter. I couldn't have been happier. So I highly recommend to anyone that is in a salon to give this guy a try.

The Knife Guy is the best kept secret in Reno. It is so nice to have someone to trust with really nice knives. Drop-off and pick-up was a breeze; knives were ready later that same day and finished product is fantastic.

Getting Vinny to sharpen my knives was the BEST- easy to schedule, easy to drop off and pick up, super super fast, got my knives back all nicely wrapped and super sharp- better than new!!! He was also easy to communicate with… I have a set of fancy Shun Knives, and I trust him with them.

We’ve had our knives sharpened by Vinnie several times over the past several years, always with exceptional results. My son now brings his knives when he visits so we can have Vinnie sharpen them. Along with sharpening he always provides helpful to prolong the life of a sharpened blade. Always a wonderful experience, I highly recommend his service!

Wow! I realized how much I’ve been using dull knives for years. My knives are so sharp, it’s scary! The Knife Guy did a superb job sharpening my five knives. Totally worth every dollar (cheap if you ask me). His knife sharpening set-up is pretty amazing and totally impressive! Highly recommend!!

I happened upon Vinnie at Williams Sonoma and booked it back home to bring them (Adrienne is a doll!) three pairs of DULL Tweezerman tweezers. He claims he’s never done a pair but now are small so razor sharp - they are even more sharp than when they were brand new! #customerforlife
